Aligned with our petition signing campaign and the theme for IDM, the theme for the 34th ICM Congress is One Million More Midwives. This reflects the continuity of our global movement — from the launch of the petition in 2025 to a major advocacy push on the International Day of the Midwife and a final moment of global unity at Congress.
At the Congress, we will hand over the petition signatures to a high-level global representative. But that’s not the end — national-level advocacy will continue all through 2026, with tools and support to help ICM member associations push for more midwives in their own countries.
